North vs. South: Who Rules the Las Vegas Strip

las-vegas-strip-mapNorth or South Las Vegas Strip?

North vs South is a war that’s been waged for hundreds of years. In Las Vegas there’s a similar battle, the battle for who’s bigger and better.

For those who haven’t been to Las Vegas, the stretch of land where the major casinos rest is called “the strip.” In Las Vegas bigger means better, and casinos consistently make property updates and additions to out-do their next door neighbor.

As guests, we benefit from all the competition. It means bigger rooms, better shows and hotter nightclubs. It also keeps hotel rates down and deals high.

The strip is 4.2 miles long, not a huge stretch of land but still challenging to navigate. To help make traveling and reservation booking easier, the strip is broken up into two parts: north and south.

North Las Vegas has held dominance for quite a few years with big names and even bigger hotels like the Wynn, Venetian, Mirage, Encore and Palazzo, but don’t count the south out just yet. The southern strip is making a comeback with the Cosmopolitan, Aria and Mandarin Oriental hotels and the addition of Hakkasan at the MGM Grand.

Before booking your Las Vegas hotel reservation consider which shows, nightclubs/dayclubs and restaurants you want to visit. It’s much easier to party when your hotel has an amazing pool party and nightclub on property or is located next door to one.

To help you navigate here’s how it’s broken down by casino:
